Dental Implants
The problem of missing a tooth or multiple teeth and the solution of dental implants:
People who miss a tooth or multiple teeth often experience a low quality of daily life. Because simple activities such as eating, speaking or even smiling become a stressful and even a painful task. Dental implants are the solution for people who are missing teeth. They have the functionality of natural teeth. What’s more, is that dental implants look and feel like your natural teeth.
Dental implants or you may hear them as teeth implants are actually artificial roots that are placed with a surgical procedure into the jawbone to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. This artificial root has the shape of a screw and usually is made by titanium, a biocompatible material, with high ability to bond with the natural bone and to create a strong base for the "false tooth".
The benefits of replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant impact overall the quality of your daily life:

-
Biting, chewing and eating: You will start to enjoy eating again food you love instead of eating food you can bite and chew.
-
Speaking: You will start to pronounce clearly some words
-
Smiling: You will start smiling again without trying to cover your gaps in your mouth.
-
Additionally, you will improve the status of your oral health: You will protect your healthy teeth and avoid gum diseases.
-
By starting to eat again properly without avoiding certain foods you will improve your nutrition and reduce the possibilities of serious medical diseases
-
And your facial appearance will be also improved because you will avoid bone loss and more wrinkles in your face as a dental implant protects the natural bone and stimulates the bone to grow.
Dental Implants Treatment Plans
A treatment plant includes:
Single Tooth Implant: When you are missing just a tooth or two teeth and you need dental crowns restoration.
Multiple Teeth Implants: When you are missing several teeth and you need a dental bridge restoration.
Implant retained denture: When you are missing teeth and you need an implant retained denture.
Full Mouth Restoration: When you are missing all your teeth and you need a full mouth restoration.
Bone augmentation: When you don’t have sufficient jawbone mass to hold the dental implant, you need a bone augmentation treatment. (More details)
The dental implant procedure
The placement of the implant normally follows a healing period of 8 to 12 weeks, determined by the complexity of the case. A temporary fixation (removable or teeth supported) can be used during this intermediate period to improve cosmetics and function. After the healing period, a ceramic crown, a bridge or a denture is fabricated and fixed on the implant or on the implants.
Temporary Dental Implants
In some cases (full mouth restorations, implants in the front areas of the jaws) implants can be restored immediately after placement with a temporary fixed restoration that will be replaced by the permanent 12 weeks later(teeth in a day)
The dental implant procedure is a safe procedure
The use of dental implants for replacing of failing or missing teeth has proven to be a predictable and safe procedure, especially on the hands of a highly trained surgeon, with high success rates accounted up to 97%. Planning each case separately, using all available information(clinical examination, x rays, medical history) is the key factor for a successful and
long-lasting treatment.
The dental implant procedure:
During the initial consultation with one of our highly experienced implant surgeons, a thorough clinical examination will be performed. The implantologist will evaluate your general medical condition ( according to your medical history), the condition of your dentition and investigate your cosmetics goals and functional needs. Certain type of x rays ( periapical, panoramic, or ct scans) will be made to evaluate the condition and quality of the teeth and the jaw bone in your mouth. After discussing the outcomes of the clinical and radiological examinations a precise treatment plan will be agreed with the patient that will include all the necessary steps to the final outcome and the costs that accompany them.
For some cases, we fabricate precise surgical guides that allow guided surgery which reduces postoperative morbidity and provides ideal 3d positioning of the implants for a better esthetic and functional outcome!
Full mouth restoration (All in 4) dental implants
The full mouth restoration or all in 4, is a dental implant procedure that focuses on people who lost all their teeth and they don’t want the discomfort experience of a removable denture. Four dental implants are placed in a specific position and location in the patient’s mouth to support fixed permanent dental bridges. With this technique, the implantologist surgeon places 4 to 6 dental implants on the frontal area of the jaw at an angle.
The pros of full mouth restoration
-
In most cases, there is no need for a bone grafting treatment. The dental implants are placed in the frontal area of the jaw which tends to maintain more bone volume in comparison with other parts of the jawbone.
-
Therefore, it is also a less invasive technique
-
It is the same day procedure. The full mouth restoration treatment lasts a day, which means that at the end of the procedure you can smile for photos.
-
It has a shorter healing time.
The cons of full mouth restoration
-
The final outcome may not be as good as the traditional dental implant procedure. All patient and all cases are not suitable for full mouth restoration with the technique all in 4 dental implants. Therefore in the initial consultation after a thorough examination, we will decide if this treatment is the best solution for your oral health, your lifestyle, and your look.
